Part 3
This article is the third in a six-part series, outlining how a Republic of Australia might be established in our lifetime.
In this part, the Second Reform Referendum is discussed. This involves the amendment of the Constitution to remove obsolete powers of the Queen and Governor-General, but still stopping short of a full Republic of Australia which will be addressed commencing in Part 4.
A few other disused sections are proposed for removal. It is also suggested that the Constitution be re-enacted by the Australian Parliament, so that our primary document is no longer an Act of the British Parliament.
